Client Specification

The bathroom renovation was tailored specifically for the property owners in Reigate, who appreciate traditional aesthetics and quality craftsmanship. They were looking for a bathroom design that combined both function and period-appropriate style to create an inviting space.

We suggested that we reconfigure the layout to better meet their practical and aesthetic needs. Their vision was for a warm, airy, easy-to-clean space with a larger handcrafted wooden washstand and a walk-in shower, replacing the current enclosed shower. They also suggested we could remove the bathtub, as it’s no longer essential for their use of the space.

Clients Design Preferences:

Style: Traditional elements with modern functionality, creating a space that feels both airy and warm.

Colours and Finishes: Natural tones to complement wooden elements and traditional features.

Hardware: Wall-mounted fixtures in brushed gold with concealed plumbing to enhance ease of cleaning and contribute to a streamlined look. Marble tiles for a classic and natural warm feel.

Our Objectives:

Develop a new layout that maximizes space, creates a harmonious flow, and incorporates the requested features.

Introduce Warm and Traditional Details: Incorporate period-appropriate details, such as coving around the ceiling, to retain the property’s character.

Enhance Practicality and Ease of Maintenance: Transition to a walk-in shower with wall-mounted taps and built-in features that streamline cleaning and maintenance.

Craftsmanship Emphasis: Install a handcrafted wooden washstand to enhance the warmth and individuality of the design.
